Recently I've had problems with Visual Studio 2005 Team System's unit testing. I keep getting the error "Can't save results of the run since ResultFilePath is null." I'm not sure what the problem is, but I've found a workaround which I thought I'd share...
Close your solution. Find the project file. (E.g. MyTests.csproj)
Inside the PropertyGroup section, add a <ResultFilePath>
element with some path inside it. It doesn't appear to matter what the path is -
I just tried:
<ResultFilePath>c:\foo</ResultFilePath>
There is no such path on my system. But it seems to get rid of the error and allow the tests to run. You may find it does the same for you if you're having the same problem.
It's not ideal of course - I'd prefer to know what the underlying problem is. All I know is that I've seen it on Windows Vista build 5270 (December CTP) running the RTM of Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite edition when my system drive is not C:.
